Where to go

Iligan City is known as the City of Majestic Waterfalls. The name Iligan is derived from the Higaonon word “Ilijan” meant as “fortress of defense”, being the site of frequent invasion attacks in bygone eras. Sea dwellers initially settled in the area before it was invaded by Visayan migrants from the island of Panglao in the 16th century, making Iligan one of the earliest Christian settlements in Mindanao.
